When a single battery is no longer enough
A storage setup often reaches its limit late in the day: the reserve runs out while consumption carries on. Anker’s SOLIX BP5000 addresses that situation. It is an additional battery module with a capacity of 5,024 Wh, added to a compatible system to extend how long you can draw on your stored energy. Exact compatibility with your equipment should be confirmed in the manufacturer’s manual.
One module, several situations
In a home, it can accompany rooftop solar production and supply the house in the evening. In a business setting, it can strengthen the autonomy of a technical room, a workshop or a small office during a grid interruption. The number of modules you need depends on your consumption profile.
What the build details tell us
The case measures 460 × 254 × 332.5mm and weighs 42 kg: a dense unit to be placed on a solid support rather than moved every week. The cell uses LiFePO4 chemistry. The stated temperature range runs from -20 to 55 °C, and weather protection is rated IP66, an index that relates to resistance to dust and water jets.
Setting it up step by step
- Find a level, solid location that stays easy to reach for maintenance.
- Plan how to handle 42 kg: with two people, positioning is safer.
- Keep the unit out of children’s reach and away from heat sources.
- Have the electrical connection carried out by a qualified installer.
Before connecting the module, compare its data with that of the main unit and follow the manual to the letter.
Why choose this model
- A capacity of 5,024 Wh in a single block, handy for enlarging an existing storage setup.
- LiFePO4 chemistry, chosen for stationary storage.
- An IP66 rating that allows installation outdoors under cover or in a lightly protected room, subject to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Precautions for use
Do not exceed the stated temperature range, and shield the module from prolonged direct sunshine if the manual advises it. Cables must suit the device and be in good condition. Never try to open the case or pierce the shell. An IP66 rating does not replace common sense: avoid areas prone to flooding.
Maintenance and periods of inactivity
Clean the exterior with a dry or barely damp cloth, with the unit disconnected. If you plan not to use the module for a long period, refer to the manufacturer’s guidance on the state of charge to maintain and on where to keep it. Check the connections from time to time.
