Why add a battery to the Anker 760 station?
A portable station is handy, but its energy tank always seems to run dry at the worst moment. This add-on battery is there to fix that: it brings 2048 Wh of reserve, which stacks with the capacity of the station it is connected to. The data supplied covers this capacity only; for everything else, the manufacturer’s manual is the reference.
Real-life situations
Daily life and holidays
In a converted van it can feed a small fridge, a laptop and the lights for several days without hunting for a socket. In a garden cabin or a weekend house with no mains connection, it keeps the essentials running. During a power cut it extends the backup time of a router, some lamps and a charger.
On the professional side
A mobile workshop, a market stall or a maintenance crew can plug light tools, lighting and payment terminals into the station-and-battery pair, with no noise or exhaust fumes.
Information available
Neither weight, nor dimensions, nor cell type appear in the data we received. We therefore do not mention them: read the manual before planning transport or a storage spot.
Pairing with the station
- Switch the station off and unplug the devices connected to it.
- Link the battery with the cable intended for the purpose, without forcing the connectors.
- Switch the station back on and check that the display recognises the added reserve.
- Only then reconnect your loads.
If you wish to feed this energy into your home’s network, only a qualified installer can do so safely.
A worked example
A small fridge averaging 50 W, a laptop at 60 W and three 5 W LED lamps add up to roughly 125 W. Over ten hours that gives 1250 Wh: about half of this reserve. These figures are assumptions, to be replaced with those of your own devices.
Strong points
- 2048 Wh extra, a sizeable capacity
- Modular extension: the original station stays in service
- Meant for nomadic use as much as for backup
Technical specifications
- Manufacturer: Anker
- Model: add-on battery for the 760 portable power station
- Capacity: 2048 Wh
Precautions
So much energy calls for care: protect the unit from water, do not leave it in a closed car in the sun and do not stack heavy loads on it. Keep the air inlets clear, use only original or recommended cables and unplug everything if you notice a smell or abnormal warmth.
Upkeep
A dry cloth is enough for cleaning. Before a long idle spell, follow the manual’s advice on the recommended charge level, store the battery somewhere dry and check it occasionally. Avoid knocks when moving it around.
Before choosing
Ask yourself three questions: what daily consumption are you aiming for, how much storage space do you have, and how do you plan to recharge it? Answering these before purchase avoids unpleasant surprises and tells you whether another 2048 Wh truly matches your need.
