Choosing a storage capacity: the 13.5 kWh case
Before buying a home battery, you need to know what you want to cover: a few evening hours or a large part of the night. This bundle from Anker’s Solarbank 3 range offers 13.5 kWh, an intermediate reserve between the smaller setups and the 16128Wh maximum reached with five BP2700 extensions. To refine your choice, note your consumption over a few evenings and compare it with this capacity.
Where and how to use it
In a dwelling
The battery collects the panels’ surplus and gives it back later, with a rated power of 1200W as off-grid AC output. It fits a home that has only a few heavy consumers.
In a professional setting
A technical room, a small workshop or a guest room can also use it to smooth their consumption. Ask an installer to confirm that the output power is enough.
What makes up the device
The technology is LiFePO4. On the input side, four PV channels cover 16 to 60V with 32A maximum (40A Isc) and 900W maximum each. Solar current can therefore be split across several panel strings, provided they respect these limits.
Connection
The manufacturer describes a plug-and-play mode, via a 230V wall socket and its smart meter. Before commissioning, confirm that your household circuit can carry the load and that your installation complies with the rules in your country. Any work on the electrical cabinet or on the link to the panels belongs to a qualified professional.
Model advantages
- Room to grow: the capacity can still increase with expansion batteries.
- Multiple inputs: four channels to spread the solar production.
- Remote monitoring thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity.

A simple benchmark for comparing
Write down the consumption of three ordinary evenings, average them, then set that number against the capacity of the bundle. If the gap is comfortable, the configuration leaves you some margin; if it is tight, look at the neighbouring configuration. This calculation remains indicative: losses and real behaviour depend on the installation.
Safety instructions
Connect only panels whose voltage stays within the stated range. Leave space around the housing, avoid places where water collects and protect the cables from impact. If in doubt, cut the power and consult the manufacturer’s manual.
Routine care
Dust with a soft, dry cloth, check the condition of the connectors from time to time, and follow the manufacturer’s instructions before putting the unit away.
