A storage bundle for photovoltaic systems
Anker’s Solarbank 4 E5000 Pro is offered here with a BP5000 expansion battery. The main unit holds 5,024 Wh in LiFePO4 chemistry; the complete bundle totals 10 kWh with a power of 2.5 kW. The job of the set is to put solar production in reserve so it can be used later, when it is actually needed.
What it is used for
Detached home
An owner of solar panels can use this reserve to cover part of the evening consumption. The four MPPT inputs make it possible to spread several groups of panels, provided the 16-50 VDC range is respected.
Commercial building
A small shop or office with an equipped roof can find a way of making better use of its output. A prior sizing exercise by a specialist avoids choosing an unsuitable capacity.
Construction
The housing measures 460 × 305 × 355mm and weighs 50 kg. Its IP66 rating protects it from dust and powerful water jets, and it operates from -20 to 55. Communication runs over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz), so the unit can be followed from a smartphone.
Installation and start-up
- Choose a level, solid support able to take 50 kg, preferably sheltered from full sun.
- Link the expansion battery to the unit following the manufacturer’s procedure.
- Connect the panels after checking their voltage against the 16-50 VDC range.
- Have the link to the home’s electrical panel made by a qualified installer.
The data received does not specify compatibility with other equipment: check it with the manufacturer.
Strengths
- 10 kWh of capacity for the bundle.
- IP66 protection, suited to a spot exposed to the weather.
- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) connectivity.
- Multiple MPPT inputs to spread the panels.
The combination of a 50 kg housing and an outdoor-oriented rating tells you what this product is for: a permanent fixture installed once, in a garage, a lean-to or against an outside wall, rather than a piece of equipment that gets moved about. Think about cable routes and about future access before you fix it in place, and leave enough free wall space beside the housing so that the expansion battery and the cabling can be reached without moving anything.

Safety
Handle the unit with several people because of its 50 kg, avoid any reversed polarity on the solar inputs and use only suitable cables. Switch the system off before working on the wiring.
Care and storage
A soft cloth is enough to clean the housing. If the unit is to stay idle for long, store it in a dry room, free of frost and excess heat, and follow the manual’s advice on charge level.
