Choosing the right capacity
The number of batteries determines the reserve available. In this configuration, the SolarVault 3 Pro main unit is completed by four BP2500 batteries, for a total capacity of 12.60 kWh. It is the step between the three-battery and five-battery versions, a relevant option if you hesitate between a modest reserve and a very large one. Note that 1.2 kW appears in the product name; compare this value with the simultaneous power of your appliances.
A question of consumption profile
Record your evening and night consumption over a few days. If it regularly exceeds what your solar production can offset, a larger capacity is justified; otherwise a smaller version may be enough.
Possible uses
In a home, the device shifts the consumption of the energy produced by the panels. For light professional use, such as a small shop or a community room, it can serve as a reserve for lighting and computer equipment. For any project of this kind, an installer will validate the required power. It is also wise to think about where the equipment will stand, since a heavy set is difficult to move once it is in place.
Construction
The system uses LiFePO4 cells with multi-layer BMS protection, terminal temperature detection and aerosol fire suppression. The main unit measures 485 x 235 x 282 mm and weighs 25.5 kg; with its four batteries, the set reaches 110 kg. An IP65 rating is stated, with operation possible from −20 °C to +55 °C.
Commissioning, point by point
- Provide a flat, solid and clear surface, protected from impacts.
- Have the panels and wiring checked by a professional, the photovoltaic input being given as 4000W.
- Plug the unit into a 230V outlet, following the plug and play method mentioned.
- Link everything to your network by Wifi, Bluetooth or Ethernet and follow the steps in the manual.
Benefits to remember
The 12.60 kWh capacity sits in the upper part of the range while remaining lighter than the five-battery set. The option of adding more batteries later, up to five according to the manufacturer, leaves room for the installation to grow, subject to the manual.

Precautions
Avoid places exposed to strong heat and never cover the device. Check that the cables have a suitable cross-section and are undamaged, and respect the maximum input values. Do not attempt any internal repair: leave it to a competent technician.
Care and storage
Wipe dust off dry and keep the surroundings clean. Examine the fixings and connectors from time to time. To put the equipment away for several months, apply the manufacturer’s advice on charge and storage location.
