A battery that takes power straight from the panels
Unlike its AC sibling, this Jackery SolarVault 3 Pro Max shows a photovoltaic input of 4000W. It can therefore be seen as the meeting point between a panel array and the house: energy captured during the day is put into reserve in the 2520 Wh main unit and in the two BP2500 batteries, making 7.56 kWh for the bundle.
Usage scenarios
A well-exposed roof, a pergola fitted with modules or an outbuilding with its own solar field are typical situations. On the professional side, a small farm or workshop may see it as a way of making use of its own production on site. Panel sizing, voltage and wiring depend on the installation: seek advice and check the input limits before buying modules.
Design
Cells and protections
The battery is LiFePO4 with multi-layer BMS protection, terminal temperature detection and aerosol fire suppression. The main unit can be completed with five additional batteries.
Format and resistance
At 485 x 248 x 282 mm and 26.5 kg, the main unit can still be handled by two people. Its IP65 rating and its -20°C to +55°C range open the way to installation in a sheltered room; the data sheet gives a noise level of <30.
Commissioning steps
- Fix the final location, making sure the support can take the 69 kg of the bundle.
- Place the batteries and the main unit as the manual describes, without blocking their faces.
- Connect the panels, respecting polarity and the manufacturer’s input limits.
- Plug the whole into a 230 V outlet (plug and play) and set up the Wifi, Bluetooth or Ethernet link.
Any work on the distribution board or on the link to the panels must be done by a qualified installer.
What sets this bundle apart
- 4000W solar input, which the AC version does not list.
- 7.56 kWh of capacity for the bundle, expandable on the main unit side.
- Three network connections: Wifi, Bluetooth and Ethernet.

Caution and care
Panels produce voltage as soon as light reaches them: never handle connectors under load. Keep the product away from standing water, avoid covering it and wipe it dry. If you put it into storage, follow the manufacturer’s manual and check that your installation matches the characteristics above.
