A long, slim module for narrow roofs
What sets the Wattstunde SOLA Flex Mono 100 Wp apart is its shape: 1595 mm long, 370 mm wide and only 3.1 mm thick. This strip-like outline fits on the roof of a converted van, on the cabin top of a small boat or along the edge of a conservatory, where a square panel would never fit. The module is flexible and delivers up to 100 W of direct current.
Where and how to use it
Mobility and leisure
In a van, motorhome or sailing boat, it recharges the service battery through a charge controller. Its low weight of 2.06 kg limits the load added up high, which matters on a vehicle that is already heavily laden.
Remote sites and professional use
A site hut, a tool shelter or a measurement cabinet can take one or several of these strips, linked together according to the voltage the controller expects. Installers may also see it as a solution for surfaces where drilling a rigid frame is out of the question.
What the specifications tell us
The cells are monocrystalline Sunpower, with a stated efficiency above 22%. Weather protection is rated IP67, and the module comes with a 2 m cable ending in a +/- output. No other connector type is specified here, so check the plugs on the product you receive before choosing extension leads.
Installation and wiring
- Clean and degrease the mounting surface; it must be sound and reasonably flat.

Safety
The panel produces voltage as soon as it is lit, so cover it or disconnect it from the load before any work. Stay within the controller’s voltage and current limits, and use cables with a cross-section suited to the distance. The IP67 rating applies to the module, not necessarily to your connections, so shield those from moisture.
Care and storage
Rinse with clean water and wipe with a soft cloth; avoid scrapers and solvents. Look over the module edges and the cable now and then. Keep it flat, or rolled without sharp creases, away from excessive heat.
