Plenty of watts on very little surface
The Wattstunde SOLA Frame Daylight bets on cell quality rather than size: its SunPower Maxeon cells are rated at 24% efficiency, and the module delivers 210 W on a frame of just 1425 x 650 mm. That is the main argument for the roofs of motorhomes, boats and small cabins, where every square decimetre counts and the aim is to draw the most from the surface available.
Handling and installation
The 30 mm thickness and the 9.85 kg weight make the module manageable. Depending on your support, it is fixed by its frame, using brackets or profiles. Take the time to:
- measure the available spot and note shaded areas, because one covered cell can reduce the output of the whole module;
- clean the contact area before positioning the support;
- fix the module firmly, then run the wiring;
- connect the MC4 connectors to the controller after comparing the electrical values given below.
A link to the electrical system of a home or a vehicle should be entrusted to a specialist. Make a note of the cable route before drilling anything, so that you do not cross sharp edges.
For private users
Equipping a converted van, a sailing boat or a garden shed: a high-efficiency module avoids overloading the roof, and leaves space for vents, hatches or an aerial.
For professionals
Installers of stand-alone systems, design offices or builders of technical trailers who have little surface to work with and need to document every dimension precisely.
Construction
The cells are of the SunPower Maxeon type. The front face is ESG anti-reflective glass, a material chosen to limit glare. The manufacturer describes the module as completely weather resistant. The panel connects through MC4 connectors.
Strengths
- Cell efficiency of 24%.
- Format of 1425 x 650 mm, suited to narrow roofs.
- Anti-reflective glass on the exposed face.
- Stated resistance to the weather.

Safe use
A lit module is a source of current: do not touch the contacts, avoid bending cables at a sharp angle and never unplug anything under load. Choose a cable cross-section suited to the 6.52 A short-circuit current and check that the 39.9 V open-circuit voltage stays within the limits of your controller. Do not walk on the glass.
Cleaning and keeping
Rinse with clear water and wipe with a soft cloth; use neither solvents nor abrasive sponges, which would scratch the anti-reflective surface. Keep the panel dry and away from knocks, with protection on the frame corners.
