Three metres to reach the distant socket
In many rooms, the socket sits behind a piece of furniture or at the far end of a wall. This 3 m Xtorm Original cable solves that problem: it links a USB port to a Lightning device while leaving room to settle into an armchair, onto a bed or at the other end of a table. The 3 m length is the central feature of this model.
Use cases
At home
Living room, child’s bedroom, covered terrace: a cable this size lets you read, watch a video or make a call while plugged in without staying glued to the wall. White blends into most skirting boards and light partitions.
In a vehicle, workshop or classroom
In a converted van, it can link a battery stored under the bench seat to the dashboard. In a workshop or a training room, it powers a device placed far from the extension lead. Hosts and trainers appreciate it for its reach.
Material and weight
The data sheet gives a length of 3 m, a weight of 93 g and a woven nylon sheath. Since no power or speed data is supplied, do not plan on any particular performance. A long lead may also behave differently from a short one in use; check the result with your device and refer to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Laying the cable
- Unroll the full length before plugging in, so no tight coils are left.
- Connect the USB end to the source, then the Lightning end to the device.
- Run the lead along a skirting board or under a thin rug, but never under heavy furniture.
Plan on clips or adhesive ties roughly every fifty centimetres if the lead is to stay in place for several days.
What it brings
- A 3 m reach, three times that of a standard one-metre lead.
- A woven nylon sheath.
- A weight of 93 g, reasonable for this length.

Who the 3 m version is for
If you never need more than a metre, a short model will be lighter and less bulky. The 3 m version is aimed at people who suffer from a badly placed socket: a bedroom with no outlet near the bed, a living room furnished in an awkward way, a workshop or a conservatory. Before buying, compare the length with the real route of the cable.
It also helps to think about how the lead will be stored once you are done. A cable of this length takes a little more room in a bag, so a dedicated pouch or a simple soft tie will keep it tidy between uses.
Safety
A long cable stretched across the floor is a tripping hazard: mark the route, go around doors, and never run it under a thick rug or through a busy walkway. Respect the limits of the source and the device, and keep the lead away from heaters and moisture.
Care and storage
Wind it in large alternating loops so it does not twist, then hold it with a soft tie. Wipe the sheath with a slightly damp cloth if it is dirty, and let it dry. Check the areas near the connectors regularly.
