A light panel to lay, tie or strap down
The SUNBEAMsystem Nordic is a flexible 104 W solar panel weighing just 2 kg. At 106 x 54 cm and made of soft plastic, it fits where an aluminium frame would be awkward: on the deck of a sailboat, on a trailer cover, on the curved roof of a small leisure vehicle or on top of a tent.
For which needs
Caravan owners use it to keep equipment batteries healthy over winter or during long stops. Boaters recharge their on-board instruments. In a professional setting, it can power temporary markers, a measuring device placed on a light shelter or a small site pump. Actual output depends on orientation and available light.
Materials and cells
The panel is made of SunPower monocrystalline cells with an efficiency of 22.5%, embedded in flexible plastic. It is described as fully weatherproof. This model already includes fixing eyelets, 6 x 6 mm in size, so it can be moored with cords, bungee cords or suitable ties.
Laying and connecting the Nordic
Pick a shade-free position and avoid edges that could mark the surface. If you use the eyelets, do not overtighten the ties, so as not to pull on the material. The two 70 cm leads end in MC4 connectors: they plug straight into a charge controller or into MC4 extensions. Check that the device accepts the open-circuit voltage of 22.69 V and the short-circuit current of 6.34 A. A connection to a household network must be made by a qualified installer.

Safety
Do not walk on the panel and do not fold it at a sharp angle. Avoid exposing it to excessive heat behind a window. Respect the limits of your controller, and do not handle the connectors while charging is active.
Care and storage
Clean it with lukewarm water and a soft cloth. To store it, lay it flat, away from sharp or heavy objects. Check the eyelets and the cable sheaths regularly. After a trip at sea or on dusty roads, rinse it with fresh water and let it dry before folding or stowing it, and never leave it rolled up tightly for long periods.
