Connecting a solar panel to an EcoFlow power station
This solar charging cable links the output of a panel, or of a group of panels, to an input in the XT60i format. At 5 m long, it lets you set up the photovoltaic modules where sunlight is best while the power station stays under cover. Before buying, check in the manufacturer’s manual that the connectors on the panel side and on the station side are compatible.
Typical uses
Home users often choose it for a garden, a terrace, a shed or a motorhome, when the panel has to stay outside and the battery inside. Professionals will find a practical extension for a building site, a mobile workshop or an event stand, where the position of the sun changes from one day to the next.
Design and features
A length meant for moving the panel away
The manufacturer states a length of 5 m. This is the only dimension provided: conductor cross-section, maximum voltage and current rating are not in our data. Look them up in the manual before sizing your setup.
A cable dedicated to solar charging
Its name describes its job: carrying energy from a panel to the charging input of a compatible Ecoflow device. It does not replace a mains cable or a link cable between batteries.
Setting it up step by step
- Unroll the cable completely to avoid overheating of a coiled section.
- Connect the station side first, with the panel still covered or in shade.
- Then connect the panel side and uncover the panel.
- Secure the cable along its path so it is not stretched, trodden on or pinched.
Any connection to a household electrical network is a job for a qualified installer.
Choosing the right length
A longer cable gives freedom of placement, but every extra metre adds resistance to the circuit. Measure the real distance between the panel location and the station location, allowing for detours, doorways and obstacles, then compare it with the 5 m available before you decide.
Strong points of this model
- 5 m length, useful for separating the panel location from the station location.
- Ecoflow brand, consistent with devices from the same manufacturer.
- Simple to use: one cable, two ends, no settings.
Technical specifications
- Brand: Ecoflow
- Type: solar charging cable to XT60i connector
- Length: 5 m
Safety
Respect the voltage and current limits given by the panel and station manufacturers. Never use a cable whose sheath is cut, crushed or burnt. Do not plug or unplug the connectors with wet hands, and avoid leaving the connections lying in a puddle: no waterproofing rating is provided for this cable.
Care and storage
Wipe the cable with a dry cloth, check the sheath and the contacts regularly, then store it in wide loops, without tight bends, in a dry, mild place. Protect the ends from dust and knocks.
