What this measuring module does
The Ecoflow P1 Meter is a small unit that plugs into the data output of a smart electricity meter. It passes the household’s consumption to a compatible system, so that system always knows how much energy the home is drawing from or sending back to the grid. That information is the basis of fine control over a battery or a balcony solar setup: without a measurement, the equipment works blind.
Everyday use
Once installed, the module works quietly in the background. There is nothing to operate: it reads, it transmits, and the system alongside it adjusts its output. Before buying, check the manufacturer’s manual to confirm that your meter and your Ecoflow equipment are supported.
Who it is for
- Homeowners who want to follow their consumption and make better use of their solar production.
- Households with a smart meter who wish to steer a battery.
- Small shops and workshops looking to smooth out their power peaks.
Design and construction
The housing measures 43.4 x 20 x 92 mm and weighs 220 g. This small footprint lets you place it close to the meter, in an easily reached cabinet or enclosure, without taking up room. Its protection rating is IP20 (indoor): it does not withstand water splashes or fine dust, so it must stay in a dry, sheltered room.
Installation and setup
Pick a spot near the meter, indoors, and check that the connecting cable reaches the data port without being stretched. Never force a connector: it should click in without effort. Any work inside the electrical panel or on the grid supply is a job for a qualified installer. Also follow the rules of your network operator, since access to the meter output may be regulated.
Strengths of this model
- Small dimensions, easy to fit into an already crowded cabinet.
- A weight of 220 g, with no special mounting needs.
- A recognised manufacturer in the world of batteries and power stations.
Technical specifications
- Brand: Ecoflow
- Dimensions: 43.4 x 20 x 92 mm
- Weight: 220 g
- Protection: IP20 (indoor)
Safe use
Keep the module away from water, condensation and heat sources. Never install it outdoors, as an IP20 rating is not enough there. Inspect the cable from time to time and replace it if it is damaged. Avoid opening or modifying the housing, which could affect how it works.
Care and storage
No particular maintenance is needed: a dry cloth is enough to remove dust, with the unit disconnected. If you need to put it away, choose a dry place at a moderate temperature, with the cable coiled without sharp folds. For any question about compatibility or configuration, refer to the manufacturer’s documentation. Keep the manual somewhere handy.
