A slim block for everyday sockets
This 30 W Xtorm mains charger uses GaN technology and comes as a small 82x28x45 mm housing weighing 60 g. It has two outputs: a USB-C PD (30W) port intended for smartphones, tablets and undemanding laptops, and a USB-A (18W) port for more traditional accessories.
Fitting it into your routine
Around the house
Its elongated shape helps when plugging into sockets close to a wall or a piece of furniture, where a square block would get in the way. It readily replaces the adapter forgotten in a kitchen drawer and doubles as a shared family charger.
At the office or on the move
In an open-plan office or on a train, it powers a smartphone and, if needed, a tablet. For a laptop, first look at the power the machine requires: 30 W is enough for some light models, not all. If in doubt, consult the laptop manufacturer’s manual.
The measurements in detail
The housing measures 82x28x45 mm and weighs 60 g. The 28 mm thickness is the smallest of the three dimensions, giving a flat profile that slides easily into an inside pocket. The sheet gives no detail on materials, so we say nothing about them. Before buying, it is worth measuring the gap behind your sockets, since the 82 mm length is the dimension most likely to matter there.
Getting going
- Choose a wall socket in good condition and unplug unnecessary devices from the same power strip.
- Push the charger fully home to ensure good contact.
- Attach a USB-C cable for a Power Delivery compatible device, or a USB-A cable for a standard accessory.
- Watch the first charge to make sure everything proceeds normally.
Nothing needs fixing or wiring: the charger remains a removable accessory. Used with an inverter or an off-grid source, it calls for the opinion of a qualified installer.

Safe operation
Plug the charger in within a ventilated room and do not cover it. It must stay dry: since no waterproofing rating is mentioned, keep it away from sinks, showers and freshly watered plants. Never pull on the cable to unplug it. Do not connect a device needing more than each output states. If the housing is cracked or deformed, stop using it.
Storage and cleaning
Clean it dry, unplugged, with a soft cloth. Keep it in your cable pouch, away from dust and knocks, and let it cool completely before slipping it in after a long charge.
